After leaving the Shanghai Urban Planning Center, we went to the Shanghai Museum where there was a 3-hour waiting line. Our tour group had “VIP passes”, however, so we walked right in. There are eleven galleries on four floors with bronzes, ceramics, paintings, clothing, furniture, calligraphy, jade, sculptures, coins and seals (over 120,000 items dating back thousands of years to the Qing Dynasty). We only had about 2-1/2 hours for our visit, and I could have easily been there 4 hours. With the time constraints, I had to look quickly, take photos and move on, but these photos will give you an idea of some of the wonderful artifacts on display.
