China, the Yangtze River, and Hong Kong

“This is a tour, not a vacation!!”

After touring “down under”, I started thinking about Asia, and I chose China. This was a very physically challenging tour (thus the above quote from our tour director), but I experienced an entirely different culture and saw many wonderful things – the Great Wall, Tiananmen Square, Temple of Heaven, Terra Cotta Warriors, pandas, the Yangtze River and the Three Gorges, and the fantastic cities of Shanghai and Hong Kong. And of course, there was great food (some of which we even cooked ourselves!), informative and entertaining local guides and wonderful traveling companions.

I recommend starting at Day 1 – Arrival in Beijing – and following along. The top menu has links to more information on China travel, while the side menu has links to each day on the tour and to photo galleries comprising the best of my almost 1000 photos taken during my travel through China. Enjoy!
